Welcome to Our Site
Mrs Yates

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website.

The purpose of this website is to inform you about our school ethos, curriculum standards and provision, including the range and quality of services available to every child at St Gregory’s.

As a Catholic school the basis of our mission is to value and respect every person as an individual, made in the image of Christ. High standards and expectations of good behaviour, therefore, are fundamental if our children are to develop positive long-term relationships and remain happy and secure within their school environment. Strong emphasis is placed on spiritual and moral development and pastoral care; all staff are fully committed to promoting the well-being of every child. The nurturing of this positive attitude is essential if pupils are to become successful learners, striving for excellence and achievement, through engagement and enjoyment of all areas of learning.

At St Gregory’s we offer an extensive and creative curriculum, which is further enhanced through a wide variety of extra-curricular sporting activities and after-school clubs for pupils in all key stages. Our links with the City Music and Performing Arts Service, and local schools enable our children to access high quality teaching by specialist staff through instrumental teaching, sports coaching and drama.

We retain a high regard for the importance of fostering healthy home-school partnerships through regular communication and contact with parents. Celebration assemblies are held every half-term, to share children’s achievements and successes, Induction evenings for parents are held in school, as children transfer between key stage. In addition you are invited to termly curriculum evenings to discuss your child’s progress and future targets. ‘Family Learning’ evenings are also held to inform and assist parents and carers in supporting children’s learning at home.

The school has pro-active and supportive governors, with a thriving ‘Parent, Teacher and Friends of the School Association,’ (PTFA); all families of pupils in the school are welcome to contribute.

Whilst I hope you find this information useful, there can be no substitute for a personal visit and you are warmly invited to view the school, by prior arrangement.

I look forward to meeting you in the future.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs M Yates    (Executive Headteacher)
