Planning

From Year 1 to Year 4, we use the Power Maths: White Rose Maths Edition to support the teaching of mathematics. The progression charts below outline the sequence of learning for each of the three terms, providing an overview of the curriculum followed by our pupils throughout the academic year.

In Years 5 and 6, we use the White Rose Maths Long Term Overviews as the foundation for our curriculum planning, adapting them to meet the needs of the pupils at St Gregory's. Our updated planning documents for the 2026–2027 academic year can be accessed below. Please note that these documents may be subject to change as we review and refine our curriculum throughout the year.

Mathematics in Early Years

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides the statutory framework for the education and care of children from birth to the end of the Reception year. It sets the standards for learning, development and welfare, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. The EYFS promotes school readiness by supporting children's progress across all areas of learning and development, providing a strong foundation for future learning and lifelong success.
